Our Tier 2 members comprise organisations that fulfil national objectives for steering and supporting the NDE research and technology translation within a specific industrial sector or across multiple sectors. These organisations do not explicitly derive commercial benefit from their activities. Launched in 2022, this membership category includes the following members:
Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC)
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry. It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and has grown rapidly to include several facilities. The MTC is one of the seven technology and innovation centres of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC), and leads all research within the Catapult that is related to NDE and SHM. Recently, MTC has taken a leading role in the effort to address the RAAC national problem.
